I have an Asus laptop running windows 10. Name is Tyson and I am having the same problem as Vicky. It appears that many people are reporting this same underlying problem (wireless connected but not working). Superantispyware is up to date and reports no problems. McAfee antivirus is up to date and reports no problems. HP hardware diagnostics run clean - no problems. Which resulted in: "failed, error 0x3A98". I have too many hours invested installing my products/apps and customization.Īs suggested in another post, from CMD prompt, I did the netsh wlan show wlanreport command They have exhausted their options and want me to revert back to factory image as the next step.

They updated wireless driver and also updated bios to latest levels. I have worked for many hours with HP tech support to no avail. They believe the problem to be in the computer but sent me a new modem which I've installed and still have the problem.

I have another laptop (Dell) running Vista thats several years old and works with no problem, an older HP desktop, also running Vista) connected with ethernet no problems and aĪSUS android tablet that connect wireless no problem. I didn't purchase a laptop to have to use a ethernet connection all the time. I am currently using an ethernet connection and it is working but I've had the problem using apps from the Windows store, from the Edge browser and with Google Chrome. Sometimes it will stay connected and working for hours and sometimes it fails within minutes of rebooting.Īlso, many times I have to resort to rebooting my modem to get the laptop to connect.

The problem started occurring about 2 weeks ago, around Feb.11th and it has been sporadic. The computer is new, HP 17", first used Dec.19, 2016. it appears that traffic does come into the laptop from the modem/router as new emails will come into my Outlook). I am also having this same issue (wireless reports that it is connected however no traffic goes out from the laptop.
